Why You Should Add Chemical Peels To Your Skincare Routine
If you have a type A personality, then you likely thrive off of a routine. But even individuals who are less type A, still tend to fall into routines— even if it’s as small as falling asleep while watching TV every night.
Whether you’re type A or type Anything But A, people are notorious for liking a routine. One of the most important routines that everyone should have in place is a skin care routine consisting of washing your face every night, wearing a sunscreen every day, and using anti-aging skin care. But, here at Dr. Tracy Evans office, we like to encourage our patients to add another step to their skin care routine: chemical peels.
What’s a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a non-invasive skin care treatment that uses a topical chemical solution to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. The skin that grows back after a chemical peel is less hyperpigmented, smoother, less wrinkled, and has a nicer texture overall.
What Are the Benefits of a Chemical Peel?
One of the great things about chemical peels is that they can be used to treat a variety of cosmetic and medical skin care concerns including:
- Precancerous Growths
- Uneven Pigmentation
How Often Should I Get a Chemical Peel?
During your skin evaluation with Dr. Tracy Evans, she will determine what type of chemical strength is best for your skin. A light chemical peel can be repeated as often as once a week for a six week period. Whereas a medium or deep chemical peel can only be done once a month.
Taking good care of your skin starts with a good routine that can be done both at home and in our office. To learn more about chemical peels or how you can take better care of your skin, schedule a skin evaluation and consultation at one of our locations today!
